Stage adaptation of the Theater
Director Sergei Zhenovach about the performance: “”Three sisters” is, perhaps, the most rough and tragic story told by Chekhov. As Masha said about Vershinin — “he seemed strange to me at first, then I felt sorry for him… Then I fell in love…” You can say that about every character of the play. At first they seem strange, then you start feeling sorry for them, sympathizing with them, understanding them. And as a result you fall in love with them — with all their weaknesses, mistakes and revelations. You perceive them as your closest friends. Without this love this vibrant story cannot exist. You want to join them in their search of the meaning of life. And beside all that, there’s this incredible sense of humor, typical of Chekhov, his wit and irony.”
